From Denver west, this was the standard carrier used by Commercial Carriers in the 1980's. Before their take over by Ryder, these trucks were painted tan and brown.

Early 1970's shot of a "Transtar I" and a W&K trailer. Allied V-L used to have a rather large fleet of car carriers. Note Ford "Squire" wagon (71?).
This load of '57's is on one of "Insured's" late 55 or 56 Dodge V-Rated tractors.
Mid-1970's truck and Hondas. Trucks in Nu Car's Import Division (mostly O/Os) were painted orange and white. Nu Car's trucks that hauled domestics (mostly Fords) were blue and white at this point in time.

Ryder once had almost 1000 Delavan 2800 series rigs. However, only a few used GMC Astro chassis like this. These were called "11-car" trucks but only eight full-size Oldsmobiles fit on this one. Tag axle.

Shot taken by Joe Wanchura. New 71 Furys and an almost new rig. This Dodge CN900 tractor is an O/O (broker) #L1284. These cars were built in Newark, Del. The trailer is a Delavan 1900.

One of only a few of these were built by Delavan for CCI. They were used to shuttle Cadillacs from storage yards to dealers.

Another of the ten Mack FS759LST trucks operated by ATC. Early Datsun 240Z cars on this load. In small print on the door, it says,"Ship with the Mack Pack".
